Product Overview

Everderm-CL contains several unique components primarily designed to replace lost collagen in the skin. For example, it includes Siegesbeckia Orientalis Extract, an herb used in Asia to stimulate wound healing.
According to the company that produces Everderm-CL, Siegesbeckia Orientalis performs a surface effect, tightening and smoothing out stretch marks and superficial wrinkles.
Everderm-CL is marketed primarily as a cream for tightening and firming the skin, not only for the face but also for the rest of the body, in particular stretch marks caused by pregnancy. Although the formula is not originally intended for use around the eye area, the company does make some promises that it will improve some signs of aging near the eyes, such as crow’s feet, under-eye puffiness etc.

Some statistics suggest a moderate effect ranging from 13% to 50% enhancement. Siegesbeckia Orientalis is also supposed to stimulate collagen production, but no statistics on this effect are given. Therefore, botanical stimulators cannot be compared to other known collagen stimulators, such as Glucosamine Complex – which improve collagen by 168%. One of the important component in the formula is the company’s proprietary Biopeptide-CL, which is a signaling compound intended to stimulate production of collagen, elastin and other key skin compounds. While the effect of Biopeptide-CL on collagen production is impressive (350%), this was conducted in vitro, meaning in a petri dish in a lab. When Biopeptide-CL was studied on actual human volunteers, the effect was far less spectacular, which roughness only reduces by 17% and overall wrinkle depth minimizes by only 23%. Everderm-CL also has the herb Phyllanthus emblica, which is native to India. According to some preliminary studies on Emblica, it possesses exclusive antioxidant properties, which could mean that it could perform a protective effect on the skin. However, the company that manufactures Everderm-CL does not report any specific data on this effect.

Price: $59

Dos And Don’ts

You can but the product if you want. There are no mentioned side effects of the product. You can apply it as directed.
The Everderm-CL web site is pretty simple. It contains a fairly systematic description of the product’s components. But there is no information regarding the company. Most importantly, while some claim that this formula will help signs of aging near the eyes, particularly crow’s feet and puffiness. But the web site only mentions this in passing and does not back up these promises with any convincing data. Even though there are many customer testimonials on the site, potential customers cannot buy the formula directly from the web site, but must do so through a third party, which is probably why Everderm-CL is relatively expensive ($59) for its nominal effects.

Final Comment

The primary intention of Everderm-CL is tightening and firming the skin, not only for the face but also for the rest of the body, in particular stretch marks caused by pregnancy. So it will would probably be used best only by those with stretch marks. Since the formula does nothing for dark circles and its effects on facial wrinkles seem moderate at best Everderm-CL cannot be recommended as an eye treatment.
